RYA Inland Waterway Helmsman's Course
The two day RYA Inland Waterways Helmsman’s course is for those new to boating, or those boaters who feel that they want to brush-up on their helmsman skills and acquire this RYA accreditation in a fun and relaxed environment.
Narrowboat Experience Day
If you’re new to narrowboating, or just curious to see what it’s all about, then this is the course for you. You’ll spend a relaxed day out on the water experiencing all aspects of safely operating and helming a narrowboat out on the canals.
Own Boat and Bespoke Helmsman Courses
Would you prefer to undergo some training on your own boat, or perhaps none of our scheduled course dates suit you? Neither are a problem. We’ll happily arrange an ‘own boat’ course. And for our regular courses, we can arrange specific dates to suit you.
RYA Diesel Engine & Boat Maintenance Course
This two day course covers all the essential boat maintenance tasks that can be completed by the average boater without the use of specialist tools. It’s not just about the engine, it covers everything you need to keep your boat in good order.
Boat Plumbing, Heating and Engine Installation
The course offers a practical introduction to the skills necessary to design and fit all of the plumbing, heating and engine installation on a narrowboat. It’s an ideal hands-on course if you’re planning a refit or complete fit-out.
Boat Electrical Systems - Design & Installation
A two day course aimed at those who are looking to understand more about their electrical systems, are keen to do some refitting work, or a complete fit out, this course offers a practical introduction to the design, materials, tools and techniques.
Boat Fitting Course 1 - (First Stages)
This is a practical introduction to all the skills necessary for the initial stage of anyone wanting to undertake a complete fit-out of a sail-way, from bare shell to a fully lined and ballasted narrowboat. It’s the first stage of our boat fit courses.
Boat Fitting Course 2 - (Second Stage)
The course is aimed at those people who are keen to complete the internals of a sail-away project, or make some major internal changes to their boat. The course offers practical joinery skills necessary to achieve a first class fit-out whatever your previous experience.
Boat Fitting Course, Full Week
Our Boat Fitting Week is aimed at those people who are keen to complete the fit-out of a sail-away and combines the contents of our Boat Fitting 1 and Boat Fitting 2 courses, with an extra day to include additional topics and expand on the skills taught.
