Classroom Based Course Information

Classroom Based Courses – on the Day Information

Great! You’re going to be joining us. Here’s everything you’ll need to know to make your (and our!) experience go smoothly. Please have a good read. Some of it is important!

How to find the marina

Please use our directions in the link below, or navigate using the What3Words app. Avoid relying on your Sat-Nav as the marina is in a rural location and there is a high probability that you’ll end up in the wrong place. Trust us on this!

How to find the Classroom

As you enter the marina gates, make a left turn and park in the parking area. The classroom is just beyond this parking area where you’ll see boats stored ashore. ashore There is a map at the bottom of this page

What time does the course start?

The classroom will be open for drinks and registration from 8:30 and we will start no later than 9:00.

Clothing – What you need to bring

Please ensure that you have suitable clothing for the activities we will be undertaking. During the course we will be working on practical exercises and it is quite likely that you might get some dirt on your clothes, so work clothes or overalls are strongly recommended. Safety boots are not required but if you have them, wear them, sensible shoes are a must.

Food and Drinks – What you need to bring

Please bring your own lunch. There are no local facilities where you can buy food, so be prepared!

We’ll provide (endless) tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day.

Equipment Documentation

If you have any documentation for your boat (owner’s manuals, engine manual etc.) please bring them with you as they may be useful.

Medical

Please ensure that you make us aware of any medical conditions which may be of relevance while you are on the course. Remember to bring any medication you require with you. If you are uncertain about your ability to manage any of the activities on the course, or have any special needs, please speak to us before you arrive.

A quick summary of the important stuff

  • Don’t follow your Sat-Nav to find us
  • You need to bring your own lunch
  • Wear sensible clothing and footwear
  • Please remember any medications

Places to stay, drink and eat

If you are travelling to our area and want to stay locally, we’ve put together a list of local B&Bs and hotels. You can view these here Where to Stay  Likewise here are some of our favourite places to eat and drink in the area Where to Eat & Drink.  Obviously there are plenty of other places for food and accommodation, most of which can be found on Tripadvisor or Airbnb.

And just in case you can’t remember!
